This work is a live improvisation by Silvia Simons on piano remembering Miles Davis - with this track, his genius for space and minimalism.
"I was not trying to imitate Miles at all or even his styles of music but I’ve always loved his music and his ability to take risks and go outside ‘the box’. Midnight Muse was the kind of improvisation where one just lets go to the moment, the mood of the moment and in oneself and sees what might come up, then develops it from there. Sometimes in free improvisations like that, it feels like being in a kind of trance, the playing happens almost automatically."
